Important!! NON EU/EEA students – Change in regulations
We must regretfully announce that this Spring 2019 we will not be able to accept students whose citizenship requires them to apply for a student visa and hold a d- visa to enter Iceland. This is due to recent changes in the processing time of student visas from 90 to 180 days. We will be updating future application and nominations dates to rectify this but since the announcement was without warning we are unable to resolve the situation for this upcoming Spring semester. This is a great disappointment to us and I am sure many students.
To determine whether students require a D-visa and can therefore not come for the Spring 2019, please take a look at this webpage utl.is/index.php/en/who-needs-a-visa if they are from one of the countries listed here then they cannot come for the Spring. However, if there country is in the list but the student holds a Schengen visa/residence card from an EU/EEA country, then they can enter while there visa is being processed, so they can still come.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE: For students whose first language is not English, proof of English proficiency must be provided. Minimum English language scores: TOEFL: 577 (PBT) or 91 (iBT) or above OR IELTS: 6.5 or above. Students from the Nordic countries and the Netherlands are not required to submit English language certificates. We also accept the DAAD certificate and Cambridge.
